A distinguished academic and leader in built environments, served 16 years as Dean of the Faculty for the Built Environment at the University of Malta. He held various leadership roles, including Head of multiple departments and Director of the Institute for Masonry and Construction Research. He contributed significantly to university governance as a Senate and Council Member (2009–2021). Beyond academia, he served as President of the Chamber of Architects and Civil Engineers (1994–1996, 2017–2019) and Executive President of Din l-Art Ħelwa (2019–2024), dedicated to preserving Malta’s cultural and natural heritage.
Mifsud graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Civil Engineering from the University of Malta, whilst also pursuing her studies at the Politecnico di Milano. Alongside her academic training, she was active in the media industry, particularly in documentary production and journalism. While based in Milan, she merged her journalistic sensibility with her architectural background by joining DOMUS, the renowned international architecture and design magazine, as a writer and researcher. Her career continued with professional experience in several leading architecture practices, before transitioning into the arts sector. In 2018, she played a key role in major projects during Valletta’s tenure as European Capital of Culture, collaborating closely with both local and international curators and artists. That same year, she established her own architectural practice, with a focus on the rehabilitation of vernacular buildings, contemporary interventions, and product design. Mifsud is currently the Artistic Director of Ħaġra Festival, and the founder of Malta Modernista, a platform committed to safeguarding modernist architecture in the Maltese Islands.
Martina Psaila is a recent graduate from the University of Malta holding a Master’s in Architectural Design from the University of Malta and has contributed to Malta’s representation at the Venice Art Biennale 2024 through an internship with the Malta Arts Council. Currently practicing at Camileri & Cuschieri and a volunteer with Din L-Art Ħelwa. Martina is passionate about the impact of architecture on urban communities that fosters meaningful connections within the urban environment.
Audrey Rose Mizzi is a multi-passionate creative specialising in marketing and communications within the arts and cultural sector. With over a decade of experience in Malta and abroad, she has worked with institutions like Spazju Kreattiv and The Wardlaw Museum. An alumna of St. Andrews, Northumbria, and Malta universities, she is also a writer and creative producer. Passionate about theatre, film, and literature, Audrey’s work spans academic and artistic publishing, short plays, and cultural projects.
