ROOM I – Documenting Difference by Text Catalogue
Documenting Difference is an exhibition that forms part of an ongoing research project by Text Catalogue. The exhibition includes a selection of documentation that makes visible a Mediterranean vernacular in the existing built landscape that is easily overlooked and which enables a different relation between people and space as opposed to the cookie-cutter type spaces of the apartment blocks that have come to dominate the local built landscape.
This exhibition is therefore a means to cement the validity of such spaces and buildings and is also a chance to imagine new futures for the local built environment that grow out of this documented vernacular rather than wiping the slate clean.
Rejecting tabula rasa and embracing tabula plena.
ROOM II – Reclaimed
Positioned at the intersection of geography, memory, and material practice, this exhibition showcases works by local and international architects who challenge dominant architectural paradigms in the Mediterranean. Through speculative design, material research, and site-specific exploration, these projects reflect on how architecture engages with the region’s cultural, environmental, and historical complexities.
The Mediterranean basin is approached not as a static landscape, but as a living archive shaped by migration, climate, and layered histories. Framing architecture as a conceptual tool, the exhibition invites reflection on identity, resilience, and the evolving spatial politics of place.
